The Memorial Day Parade is an awesome family tradition sponsored by the PHCA and the City of Park Hills. The parade starts at Notre Dame Academy and concludes at Trolley Park with a commemorative
flag raising ceremony and tribute to our Grand Marshalls. Join us for this special small town event that unites our community!

Parade Staging: The parade forms between 10:30 and 11:20am, off Dixie Highway in Park Hills at the Notre Dame Academy. The Parade starts promptly at 11:30am and follows Dixie Highway to
Arlington Road, to Old State Road, to Terrace Drive, to Amsterdam Road, to Park Drive. Participants staying for the flag raising ceremony may continue around Rose Circle and park along Park
Parade Grand Marshall: Amy McGrath-Henderson is the Grand
Marshal of the 2019 Memorial Day Parade. Amy graduated from Notre Dame Academy and the Naval Academy and is a former Marine fighter pilot. She was the first female Marine to fly in an F/A-18
fighter aircraft on a combat mission. Amy served for 20 years in the Marine Corps during which time she flew 89 combat missions.
Parade Lineup and Assistance: Similar to the
parade lineup over the last several years, there will be a number of Parade Officials to assist you in finding your row and lineup number in the Notre Dame Academy's parking lot. Look for signs on
Dixie Highway into ND Academy, and look for Parade Officials positioned at the staging area to assist you in finding your position in the parade line-up.
Parade Entries: Parade entries include elected State, County,
and City officials; fire and police departments floats; convertibles; military vehicles and personnel; local businesses; antique cars; marching band; community groups; horses; local school youth and
sport groups; local music groups; gymnastic clubs; and neighborhood entries.
A $100 Cash Prize: DMR Kitchen and Bath Remodeling owned by
Dave Russo based in Park Hills, will award a $100 cash prize to the best parade entry from a Park Hills group. Entries could include: Resident; Business; Neighborhood; Special Interest
Group; Church; School; Athletic Group; Scouts; etc. .
Contest: Each year fourth and fifth graders from Ft. Wright Elementary School and St. Agnes School compete in a Memorial Day essay contest using the
theme: "Women in the Armed Forces!". A $50 first prize and a $25 second prize will be awarded to the best essay writers. Authors of both winning essays ride in the parade and the first prize winner
reads his/her essay at the flag raising ceremonies.
